Who are the organizers of this class? This acting class is organized by Istoria, Inc, and taught by Franco-American director Daniel Rabourdin in cooperation with our team, Industrious Family.

Who is Daniel Rabourdin? Daniel Rabourdin worked as producer at EWTN, Mother Angelica TV, for nearly two decades.

During his career, Daniel has directed over 150 actors and extras in the production of saint docufilms. His most notable independent work is The Hidden Rebellion.

Daniel Rabourdin coaches the students by leading games and offering suggestions to bring out better performances, improve enunciation, and become an actor suited to real film productions.

What can I expect from the class? At the end of the course, the student is better able to:

  • Express himself in public.
  • Be hired as an actor in a serious production.
  • Connect with an audience for professional presentation or political speech.
  • Play his character without being affected by the cameramen, sound engineer, or other crew members.

Group games make up around 60% of the class. They develop spontaneity, receptivity to others, enunciation, confidence, authenticity, consciousness of one’s emotions and quick wit.

How often is the Catholic Acting Class? The class is once a week for one hour via an online meeting room.

When is the class? There are two classes: 13 years old and older: Mondays at 9:00 AM CT and under 13 years old: Thursdays at 9:00 AM CT

How many weeks do the online acting classes run? Even two months of acting class impart the students with better abilities to speak in public, speak their mind with spontaneity, address the public on camera, and present themselves for interviews. To become an actor employable by professional productions, young people need on average two years of class. Older people need more time.

Is there a fee? The first two classes are complimentary. Following that there is a $10 fee per class or $35 per month. Major benefactors and volunteers of Oath film or actors of Industrious Family Films can get in free. 20% discount for groups of two or more.

Are there any supplies needed for the Catholic Film Acting Class? You will need a computer with audio and video enabled, pen or pencil and notepad.

What Makes Us So Excited About These Online Acting Classes?

Acting Ad Mary And Faustina Acting

You may be wondering what makes us so excited about these online acting classes and this is a valid question.

The truth is you might be able to find the same quality of training elsewhere, but you would be hard pressed to find one as affordable or as authentically Catholic as this one.

Not only are the students all fellow Catholics, but the coach also brings in Catholic elements and frequently reminds students that, although we may want to further our careers with good acting, we are also called by God to participate in beautiful works of art that honor our Holy Faith.

Daniel Rabourdin teaches using a method used by his worldly counterparts, but offers Catholic children a place to learn these techniques and skills where their Faith is completely unquestioned and in fact encouraged as something that makes them who they are.

How Industrious Family Has Benefited From This Class And How It Can Aid In Your Own Productions

If we are to compete with the big studios, we must sharpen our talents in every area of production. This class has not only taught our actors to perform better, but is also helping us learn how to be better directors and coaches.

There is a whole philosophy behind film acting and really being able to delve into that in this class will take our films to the next level and we deeply appreciate Mr. Rabourdin offering this class so that we can improve all around!

Many members of the Industrious Family are taking this class and loving it. It is really wonderful. Mr. Rabourdin teaches through games and exercises. He gives encouraging feedback during these games. Often a brief acting theory is discussed but the classes are typically fast paced group activities that allow time to fly by.

This is a truly formative class as teachings of our Catholic faith are discussed and applied to the art of film acting. In one of the recent classes we learned how just as it is important to pray like we mean it (Matt. 6:6-9) we must act like we mean it.

Very practical tips that get you an acting job and keep that job are also given. We learned how important it is to an editor if an actor stays in character for three seconds after they deliver their line. We also learned that oftentimes a director will ask the casting person if the actor is a good actor first then the director will ask if the actor takes directions well.

You must learn to take directions if you want to land a role, and you can practice this and so much more in Mr. Rabourdin's acting class!

For directors, we discovered that it is important not to tell actors how to act, rather we must tell them how to feel.

So if you are an aspiring actor, you need to take this class.
If you are an aspiring director, you need to take this class.
If you are an aspiring script writer, you need to take this class.
If you are involved in filmmaking you need to take this class.

We'll see you there!
